Father's Day Recital!!!

Today was recital day and Katharine was the prettiest girl there (in my opinion!). She did a great job on stage and looked fabulous in her costume. Her ballet number this year was "Too Many Girlfriends" (they had a boy in their class this year!) and her tap number was "Good Golly, Miss Molly." They were honestly cute beyond words!

After the dance recital Daddy gave her these pretty purple roses and we all went to Caviar & Bananas for a special treat (Grandmomma and Poppa came down to see the recital!).

On the ride home Paul was telling Katharine what a great job she had done and how he couldn't wait until next year (the recital is considered one of his father's day gifts). KK said deadpan, "actually, there isn't going to be a next year but, don't worry, you'll still get lots of presents."

Personally, momma is totally bummed as I love the recitals every year. I'm already thinking of a major bribe of some sort to get her interested again! (I'm sure bribes aren't recommended in the Mother of the Year Official Guidebook but, heck, my kid is just too darn cute in a tu-tu!).

Happy father's day to all the wonderful men in my life

I often forget to by cards
But I love you all more than words can say
To my dad, my father-in-law, my hubby, and iPop
Happy father's day to you

Happy father's day, Paul!

We love you!

Wedding bells rang in Rochester this weekend

My longtime family friend, Wendy Leyland, got married on Saturday to David Hou.  I had not seen Wendy or her parents in 8 years - for her high school graduation party!

Wendy was a beautiful bride, it was a beautiful day with wonderful views from the Rochester Yacht Club. I was glad to be a part of it. (I'll leave the jellyfish out of it for the sake of good manners ).

The tide tickles our toes

KK's first race

This morning KK ran a 50 yard dash. She got a little overwhelmed by all the other kids and cried while Paul half held her hand, half dragged her. A popsicle at the finish line made it all better.

Newest member of the underwear club

Yesterday morning at breakfast Matt proclaimed that he was going to wear underwear today! And he did. He made it all day at school in the same spidey pair. We celebrated with ice cream, hot dogs and prizes!
