And, as you can clearly see from the pictures, it was nothing like a Buffalo snow storm. But, we did have some ice which closed many of our bridges. The Ravenel Bridge (our biggest bridge and a suspension bridge) was closed the longest and then had to re-close again as the temperature began to rise because huge chunks of ice were falling onto the roadway.
Honestly, it really became a min-vacation for everyone and allowed for some post-Christmas R&R. I considered it a gift and was filled with gratitude for the chance to slowdown for a couple of days in the middle of the week. It doesn't happen often in Charleston but when it does, the whole town gets excited!
